Nepal Reaffirms Commitment to One-China Policy

Kathmandu. The government has clarified that Nepal is firm on the One-China policy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed at a press conference organized on Friday that Nepal is steadfast in its established policy.

A few days ago, after the government allowed the Dalai Lama's birthday to be celebrated in Nepal, questions arose in the parliament asking, 'Has Nepal gone against the One-China policy?'. Responding to the same question, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Lok Bahadur Poudel Chhetri stated that Nepal will not allow its land to be used against the interests of any neighboring country. He said that Nepal will not allow its land to be used against any friendly nation.

Spokesperson Chhetri said, 'Nepal is committed to the One-China policy. Nepal is steadfast in its established policy of not allowing its land to be used against the interests of any neighboring country.' He also clarified that the Nepali government's stance and policy on the One-China policy remain the same.
