Two Arrested with Indian Rupees in Banke; Goods Worth NPR 346,000 Seized in Nepalgunj

Nepalgunj. Police have arrested two people with six lakh Indian rupees of undisclosed source in Banke. Police Deputy Superintendent Deepak Patali of the District Police Office, Banke informed that they were arrested with illegal Indian 500 and 1000 notes when checked based on special information in an auto-rickshaw while heading towards Narainapur Rural Municipality.

He stated that Birbal Kumhar, 29, residing in Narainapur Rural Municipality-5, and Muni Khana, 38, residing in the same rural municipality-4, were arrested from Ekraini in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-2. The amount has been handed over to the Internal Revenue Office, Kohalpur, and the arrested individuals are in custody for investigation, the District Police Office, Banke stated.

Similarly, police have recovered goods worth approximately NPR 346,000 smuggled into Nepalgunj. The police have also recovered motorcycles with numbers UP 40 S 2078, BHE2P 7578, BHE9P 7064 used to bring cigarettes, betel nut, beverages, and boiler chickens smuggled into Nepalgunj from Wards 3, 10, and 17. The police stated that all the recovered goods have been handed over to the Customs Office, Nepalgunj.
