Supreme Court Postpones Hearing on Squatter Settlement Eviction Case

Kathmandu. Hearing on three writ petitions filed at the Supreme Court against the government's decision to remove squatter settlements has been postponed. The hearing, which was scheduled for Wednesday in the bench of Justices Sharanga Subedi and Shanti Singh Thapa, was postponed after Kathmandu Metropolitan City requested more time, citing insufficient preparation.

The case was postponed to today after it was ordered to be placed on the cause list on Tuesday as well. Three writ petitions related to squatter settlements had been listed for hearing at the Supreme Court.

Separate writ petitions were filed by Gopal Ran Paheli, senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi, and Majid Ansari. The Supreme Court had scheduled a hearing for all these petitions together.
