19 Nepalis Including Manager Arrested from Royal Kalinga Casino in Bhairahawa

Butwal. 19 Nepalis including the manager have been arrested from Royal Kalinga Casino in Bhairahawa. Police raided the casino, which is operating in the Gautam Buddha International Hotel near Gautam Buddha International Airport, based on information that Nepalis were gambling illegally.

A joint team from Lumbini Province Police Office and District Police Office Rupandehi raided the casino located in Siddharthanagar Municipality-10 and took 19 people involved in gambling and facilitating gambling into custody, the police said.

According to Krishna Kumar Chand, information officer of the District Police Office Rupandehi, 4 people who facilitated gambling and 15 people who gambled were arrested on Tuesday night. Rs 95,500 in cash, 17 mobile phones, and 200 casino coins were recovered from them.

Of those arrested, 15 are from Rupandehi, while one each is from Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Gulmi, and Parsa.

Police said that further investigation is underway on those arrested.
