Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Rajendra Lingden Criticizes Government's Hasty Actions in Encroachment Drive

Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has stated that an attack on faith is more dangerous than an attack on a person's property. Responding to the issue of removing squatter settlements and encroached houses, he mentioned that the government's preparation was insufficient.

He wrote on social media – 'It is not appropriate from anywhere to demolish temples, schools, and Buddhist monasteries on Buddha Jayanti itself in excessive haste in the name of clearing public spaces. It is common knowledge that public institutions like temples, schools, and monasteries are located on public land.'

He further writes – 'Some could not bear to see their roofs gone and lost their lives. Development should be for life. Life is not for development. An attack on faith is more dangerous than an attack on a person's property. May the government pay attention to the fact that development that is continuous and preserves history, religion, and tradition is also sustainable and stable. Homework was not enough.'
