Mid-Western University and Birendranagar Municipality Sign Scholarship Agreement

Surkhet. A scholarship agreement has been signed between Mid-Western University and Birendranagar Municipality, Surkhet. Under the agreement, an endowment fund worth 20,202,200 rupees has been established.

Birendranagar Municipality Mayor Mohanmaya Dhakal stated that the initiative aims to expand educational collaboration between the local government and the university while implementing scholarship programs. "It is expected that this will help expand access to higher education, especially for local students," she said.

Dhakal further noted that the local government has a responsibility to support higher education, and as the municipality hosting the university and the provincial capital, they have a duty to include all sectors.

University Vice-Chancellor Dhruva Kumar Gautam stated that under his leadership, efforts were made to connect the university with the community and to pass procedures for establishing a permanent university fund.

"Collaboration between the local government and the university will contribute to enhancing the quality of education," he added.
