Solidarity rally in support of Dr KC
Kathmandu - Those expressing solidarity with agitating Dr Govinda KC have marched a rally in his support in the capital city on Saturday.
Members of various social organizations and stakeholders started the rally from the Maitighar Mandala and ended in Exhibition Road.
Senior orthopedic surgeon, Dr KC, has been staging fast-unto-death for the 11th time since July 24 demanding overall reforms in health and medical education sector in the country.
His demands also include earliest endorsement of National Medical Education Act and immediate appointment of Assistant-Dean in the Institute of Medicine (IoM).
The Ministry of Education has been calling for talks with the Dr KC.
The high-level meeting called by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Friday also urged agitating Dr KC to put an end to his hunger-strike and join the talks with government.
The rally also saw participation of former justices, health care providers and human rights activists among others.
