Mumbai Indians Secure Dominant 99-Run Victory Over Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026

Kathmandu. In the Indian Premier League 2026 match held on Monday, Mumbai Indians registered a massive 99-run victory over Gujarat Titans. Chasing a target of 200 runs set by Mumbai, aided by Tilak Varma's magnificent unbeaten century, Gujarat was bowled out for just 100 runs in 15.5 overs.

With this win, Mumbai has accumulated 4 points from two victories in six matches.

Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Mumbai scored 199 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. For Mumbai, Tilak Varma batted brilliantly, scoring an unbeaten 101 runs off just 45 balls. This is the first century of his IPL career. He hit 8 fours and 7 sixes in his innings. 

Similarly, Naman Dhir contributed 45 runs off 32 balls, and Suryakumar Yadav added 15 runs off 10 balls. For Gujarat, Kagiso Rabada took 3 wickets, while Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna claimed 1 wicket each.–

Gujarat's batting faltered from the start while chasing the 200-run target. Apart from Washington Sundar, who scored a team-high 26 runs, Shahrukh Khan with 17, and Shubman Gill with 14, no other batsman could perform significantly.

In the process of bundling out Gujarat cheaply, Mumbai bowler Ashwani Kumar bowled lethally, taking 4 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs. Mitchell Santner and Allah Ghazanfar took 2–2 wickets each.
