Eight children killed in Shreveport, Louisiana shooting

Kathmandu. Eight children have been killed in a shooting incident in Shreveport, Louisiana, USA. Police have described the incident as the result of a domestic dispute.

According to local time, a gunman opened fire on 10 people at approximately 5 AM, resulting in the deaths of eight children aged between 1 and 14. During a pursuit, police shot and killed the suspect as he attempted to flee.

Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux called the incident the 'most tragic event in the city's history,' stating that it has left the entire community in shock. According to police, some of the children killed were relatives of the attacker.

Police reported that after the shooting, the attacker attempted to flee by hijacking a vehicle. Police pursued him and shot him dead at another location.

Police Chief Ben Smith described the incident as beyond imagination and stated that a detailed investigation is underway in coordination with the Louisiana State Police.
