Potential US-Iran Talks May Occur Before Friday, Sources Say

Kathmandu. Talks between the United States and Iran could take place before this coming Friday, according to two Pakistani security sources. Speaking to Qatar's Al Jazeera on the condition of anonymity, these sources pointed to several activities signaling potential negotiations.

According to them, two heavy US airlift C-17 Globemaster aircraft have landed at the Nur Khan Air Base, located near the capital, Islamabad.

Secondly, roads from the airport to Islamabad's "Red Zone" have been temporarily closed, which is being viewed as a sign of high-level security preparations. 

Thirdly, guests have been cleared from major Islamabad hotels, including the Serena Hotel Islamabad and the Islamabad Marriott Hotel, with new bookings suspended until Friday. Previously, the first round of US-Iran talks was concluded at the Serena Hotel Islamabad on April 11.
