Government Hospitals to Close OPD Services Two Days a Week

Kathmandu. OPD services in government hospitals will now be closed for two days a week. Following intense pressure from 14 joint professional organizations active in the health sector, the government has decided to implement a two-day public holiday in hospitals and health institutions.

With the government's decision, regular OPD services across all government hospitals nationwide will remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays. However, the Ministry of Health and Population has stated that emergency and inpatient services will continue to operate 24 hours a day.

Previously, the Council of Ministers had decided on 2082 Chaitra 22 to grant all government employees a two-day weekly holiday.
