Lumbini Province Records 34.31 Percent Budget Expenditure in Third Quarter of 2082/083

Butwal. The Lumbini Province government has spent 34.31 percent of its total allocated budget for the current fiscal year (2082/083) by the end of the third quarter.

During this period from Shrawan to the end of Chaitra, 32.36 percent of the capital budget and 37.27 percent of the recurrent budget have been utilized.

According to the Provincial Comptroller Office, out of the 38.91 billion rupees allocated for the current fiscal year, only 13.34 billion 96 million rupees have been spent by the end of Chaitra.

Of the 23.47 billion 14 million 65 thousand rupees allocated for capital expenditure, 7.59 billion 57 million rupees have been spent by the end of Chaitra. Similarly, out of the 15.43 billion 5 million 35 thousand rupees in the recurrent budget, 5.75 billion 39 million rupees have been spent during the review period.

• Budget Expenditure by Ministry

According to the Provincial Comptroller Office, the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers has spent 23.18 percent of its total annual budget. Of this, 24.49 percent was spent on recurrent and 12.51 percent on capital expenditure.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs has spent 24.37 percent of its budget, with 26.17 percent in recurrent and 11.37 percent in capital expenditure.

The total expenditure of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Transport is 22.82 percent. While 41.98 percent was spent on recurrent, only 10.92 percent was spent on capital expenditure.

The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has spent 31.66 percent of its budget, comprising 49.06 percent recurrent and 29.63 percent capital expenditure.

Similarly, the budget expenditure of the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives is 30.84 percent, with 31.74 percent recurrent and 20.10 percent capital expenditure.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law has recorded the lowest expenditure at 8.63 percent. While 31.74 percent was spent on recurrent, capital expenditure was only 2.49 percent.

The Ministry of Forest and Environment has spent 35.10 percent of its budget, with 43.59 percent recurrent and 23.18 percent capital expenditure.

The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development has spent 37.1 percent of its budget, with 37.28 percent recurrent and 37 percent capital expenditure.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has spent only 10.38 percent of its annual budget so far, with 21.45 percent recurrent and 3.30 percent capital expenditure.

The Ministry of Cooperative Development and Water Supply spent 31 percent of its budget, with 48.43 percent recurrent and 30.17 percent capital expenditure.

The Ministry of Social Development has spent 20.45 percent of its budget, with 23.26 percent recurrent and 15.20 percent capital expenditure.

The Ministry of Health has recorded the highest expenditure at 53.51 percent, with 45.80 percent recurrent and 70.09 percent capital expenditure.
