National Economic Census 2082 Begins Nationwide

Baglung. The field data collection for the National Economic Census-2082 is set to begin simultaneously across the country starting Wednesday. The National Statistics Office has deployed enumerators and supervisors to their respective work sites following a five-day specialized training program.

According to Chandra Kanta Subedi, Chief of the District Economic Census Office in Baglung, 33 enumerators and five supervisors have been mobilized for the census, which will run from Baisakh 2 to Asar 7. He noted that the enumerators were trained from Chaitra 26 to 30 and have already been dispatched to their assigned areas.

The census aims to gather information on industrial and commercial structures, identify employment generation status, and measure the contribution of various sectors to the national economy. Enumerators have received specialized training to ensure the collection of accurate and reliable data. It is believed that the data obtained will play a crucial role in formulating national policies and plans.

Krishna Prasad Acharya, Coordinator of the District Economic Census Coordination Committee and Chief District Officer, emphasized that everyone should cooperate as this is a national campaign. The census will cover all formal and informal establishments and businesses, ranging from manufacturing to service providers. The first National Economic Census in Nepal was previously conducted in 2075 BS.
