Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli sustain injuries during IPL 2026 clash

Kathmandu. Indian cricket icons Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli sustained injuries during the IPL 2026 match held at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.

During the thrilling encounter between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Rohit retired hurt and left the field, while Kohli did not take the field for the second innings due to an ankle issue.

Chasing a massive target of 241 runs, Mumbai's Rohit Sharma was seen limping in the fifth over. Despite receiving on-field treatment, he was unable to continue his innings and retired at 19 runs. He did not return to bat, and Mumbai lost the match by 18 runs.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru's Virat Kohli appeared to be struggling with a left leg issue around the 10th over while batting. Kohli, who was dismissed after scoring 50 runs, did not appear on the field during Bengaluru's fielding stint. However, captain Rajat Patidar stated after the match that Kohli's condition is currently normal.

With this victory, Bengaluru has climbed to the third position in the standings, while Mumbai Indians have dropped to eighth place following three consecutive defeats.
