Congress will play its role based on government performance: General Secretary Poudel

Chitwan. Nepali Congress General Secretary Pradeep Poudel has stated that the Congress will perform its role in Parliament based on the government's performance. Speaking to journalists at Bharatpur Airport today, he said that as the main opposition party, the Congress will support and cooperate with the good initiatives undertaken by the government.

He said, “The Congress will not obstruct any work done by the government in favor of the people, democracy, public livelihood, and good governance.” Speaking on a different note, he mentioned that while there was an attempt to reach a consensus on the parliamentary party leader internally, the effort was unsuccessful. He stated that the parliamentary party leader will be elected on Baisakh 4, either through consensus or an electoral process.

He noted that the current leadership desires to move forward by maintaining unity within the party. Stating that the solution to current problems lies in the 15th General Convention, he urged, “Let us focus on the convention, not the courts.”
