Bagmati Province Government Increases Public Transport Fares

Kathmandu. The Bagmati Province government has increased the fare rates for public transport operating within the province. The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Transport has published the new fare rates in the provincial gazette.

According to the new fare structure, different rates have been set for routes within and outside the Kathmandu Valley.

• Here are the fare rates for Kathmandu Valley:

Fares for public transport in the valley have been adjusted based on distance. The minimum fare for travel within the valley has now reached 24 rupees.

• 0 to 5 kilometers: 24 rupees
• 0 to 10 kilometers: 33 rupees
• 0 to 15 kilometers: 39 rupees
• 0 to 20 kilometers: 44 rupees
• Above 20 kilometers: 50 rupees

The ministry stated that for electric passenger vehicles, the previous fare rates implemented from 2079-01-01 will remain in effect.
