Rupa Rural Municipality Presents Budget of NPR 55.38 Crore for Fiscal Year 2083/84

Pokhara. Rupa Rural Municipality has presented a budget of approximately 55.5 crore for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84. Vice-chairperson Lalsubba Gurung presented a budget of 55 crore 38 lakh 1 thousand rupees in the village assembly.

The municipality has given main emphasis to production increase, employment creation, social development, and infrastructure construction in the coming year. Out of the municipality's total budget, 41 crore 82 lakh has been allocated to current expenditure and 13 crore 55 lakh 71 thousand to capital expenditure.

Almost all of the budget is dependent on grants from the upper government. The Government of Nepal will provide Rupa with 7 crore 78 lakh in financial equalization, 7 crore 59 lakh from revenue sharing, and 29 crore 29 lakh in conditional grants for the coming year. Similarly, it will provide 1 crore 75 lakh in complementary grants and 30 lakh in special grants.

The provincial government will provide 81 lakh in revenue sharing, 60 lakh in complementary grants, 93 lakh in financial equalization, and 40 lakh in special grants. The 4 crore 62 lakh that the municipality could not spend in the current year will be a major part of the upcoming year. The municipality has projected to collect 1 crore 27 lakh internally.

The municipality has stated that it will spend a large budget on the production and self-reliance of agriculture and animal husbandry for the coming year. An amount of 1 crore 80 lakh rupees has been allocated for the integrated agricultural development program with the slogan 'Hardworking Farmers' Hands: The Municipality's Support'. 2 crore 5 lakh has been allocated for all agricultural sectors and 78 lakh 80 thousand for livestock.

Every year, Rupa allocates money by focusing on new agricultural production. In the coming year, the municipality has announced programs such as operating a silage industry and free animal insurance. 19 crore 43 lakh has been allocated for the social development sector, with 15 crore 24 lakh for education. The amount for the social sector also includes social security allowances.

The education budget will include programs for the development of the education sector, operation of mega model schools, and capacity building of teachers and staff. 3 crore 43 lakh rupees have been allocated for health programs including the development of an integrated health system, free specialist health camps, cervical cancer screening, and free ambulance services.

An amount of 11 crore 18 lakh 51 thousand rupees has been allocated for the development of physical infrastructure including roads, bridges, suspension bridges, and administrative buildings within the rural municipality. In the coming year, Rupa will promote the famous Royal Trek, informed Chairperson Navraj Ojha. Similarly, the construction of a landfill site is also a priority. 7 lakh budget has been allocated for the welfare of daughters, which has been in operation since before.
