In the match held at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Friday night, Rajasthan defeated defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 6 wickets, strengthening their grip on the top spot of the points table.

Rajasthan chased down Bengaluru's challenging target of 202 runs in just 18 overs for the loss of 4 wickets, setting several records in the process. Vaibhav Suryavanshi set a new benchmark in IPL history by scoring a half-century in just 18 balls.

He became the first player to score three half-centuries in under 18 balls, and this was his second instance of reaching a fifty in just 15 balls. Vaibhav and Dhruv Jurel shared a 108-run partnership in just 37 balls, scoring at a run rate of 17.51 per over. This is the second-fastest century partnership in IPL history. Rajasthan also recorded their highest-ever powerplay score in IPL history by adding 97 runs.

With this defeat, Bengaluru has set an unwanted record in the IPL. They are now tied with Punjab Kings for the most matches lost after failing to defend a score of over 200. Bengaluru has now lost 7 matches despite scoring 200-plus runs.

In the match, Bengaluru added 107 runs after the fall of their sixth wicket, which is the second-highest total added by tail-end batters in IPL history. However, Bengaluru's bowlers had no answer to Vaibhav's strike rate of over 300.
