Sagarmatha Music Awards Honors Veteran Sitarist Vijaya Sharma

Kathmandu. Veteran Sitarist Vijaya Sharma has been honored with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award'. At the seventh edition of the Sagarmatha Music Awards held in the capital, the award was presented to Sharma by the first Vice President of the Republic of Nepal, Parmananda Jha, along with Reliance Finance Deputy CEO Ramhari Acharya, Jury Coordinator Santosh Shrestha, Program Chief Purushottam Basnet, and Program Coordinator Manoj Thapa, accompanied by a cash prize of Rs. 17,696.

Organized by Artha Nepal Pvt. Ltd. at the Rastriya Nachghar, Jamal, under the theme 'Honoring Nepali Art and Creators, Our Campaign for the Preservation and Promotion of Nepali Culture', the event also presented the Sagarmatha Art Journalism Silver Award to journalist Dhurba Lamsal and the Radio Journalism Award to Shiromani Dawadi.

During the event, various honors were bestowed, including the Sagarmatha Music Honor to lyricist Khem Nath Dahal, Sagarmatha Social Service Honor to Ramraja Thapa, Sagarmatha Honor to Event Managers Association President Rajendra Luitel, Sagarmatha Music Honor to lyricist Lokraj Adhikari, and Sagarmatha Art Honors to Ashwini Jha, Rajan Budhathoki, and Rajendra Thapa Magar.

The jury for the awards included musician Santosh Shrestha, litterateur Malika Keshari (Prakash Shrestha), artist Sanam Kathayat, filmmaker Devendra Bajgai, folk singer Kulendra BK, singer Hemant Kancha Rasaili, and lyricist Samana Shah.

Awards were also distributed across various categories of music.
