RPP claims consensus with RSP for Deputy Speaker candidacy

Kathmandu. RPP parliamentary party leader Gyanendra Shahi has stated that his party filed its candidacy for the Deputy Speaker position with the consent of the RSP.

Shahi made these remarks while speaking to journalists at Singha Durbar on Thursday, following the registration of RPP lawmaker Saraswati Lama's candidacy for Deputy Speaker.

'We registered the candidacy after consulting with everyone. We even held discussions with RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane himself,' he said, adding, 'Rabi Lamichhane called me.'

When asked about reports that the RSP might support a candidate from the Labor and Culture Ministry, Shahi replied, 'If they want to play that kind of politics, let them; I must speak the truth.' He also noted that fluctuations in politics are normal.
