Media Personality GP Timalsina Addresses Legal Dispute Following Complaint by Ex-Wife Usha Khadgi

Kathmandu. Media personality GP Timalsina, who faced legal trouble following a complaint by his ex-wife, former Miss Nepal and actress Usha Khadgi, has stated that the justice process needs to be more transparent and fact-based. He was arrested on Tuesday based on Khadgi's complaint.

The Bhaktapur District Police Range took him into custody based on a complaint filed by Khadgi regarding charges including indecent behavior.

Upon his release, Timalsina wrote on social media: 'Even stones explode when heated too much. Truth does not waver, and lies do not last long. After long discussions, the reality, truth, and facts are with the concerned authorities. Based on personal experience and social debate, the primary objective of women's rights laws is to keep women safe and provide equal opportunities. However, in some cases, attempts to misuse women's rights laws (with the intent to frame or mentally harass men) further weaken the rights of women who are truly victims of violence. Therefore, it is necessary to make the enforcement of law and the justice process more clear and fact-based.'

Immediately following Timalsina's response, Khadgi replied via social media, stating, 'I do not commit wrongs, nor am I afraid.'
