Nepal Weather Update: Western Disturbance and Local Winds Bring Rain and Snow

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system and local winds. As a result, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, including Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, are experiencing generally cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country remains partly cloudy. 

This afternoon, the mountainous and hilly regions of the country will be generally cloudy, while the remaining areas will be partly cloudy. There is a possibility of moderate rain with lightning and snowfall in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, as well as in one or two places in the Terai region of Koshi Province.

Tonight, the weather will be generally cloudy in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as the mountainous regions of Bagmati and Koshi provinces, while the remaining hilly and Terai regions will be partly cloudy. 

There is a possibility of moderate rain with lightning and snowfall in a few places in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki Province, and in one or two places in the mountainous regions of Bagmati and Koshi provinces.
