Former PM Bhattarai Expresses Grief Over Ride-Hailing Driver's Death

Kathmandu. Former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has expressed sorrow over the death of ride-hailing driver Ganesh Nepali. Bhattarai wrote on social media Facebook that Nepali's death is not just a death but a serious political and economic crisis of the country that will render tens of millions of youth unemployed.

'The death of 25-year-old youth Ganesh Nepali from Mugu, who was burnt to death while attempting self-immolation in front of the Department of Passports in the capital Kathmandu, is an extremely sad and serious incident,' he wrote. 'This not only signifies the untimely and tragic death of a promising youth but also exposes the serious political and economic crisis of the country that will render tens of millions of youth unemployed, and the shameful character of the state structure that tries to cover a volcano with leaves instead of finding a sustainable solution! Let us all be serious!'
