Madhesh Province Minister Inspects Border Area in Mahottari

Janakpurdham. Madhesh Province Minister for Home Affairs, Communications, and Law, Fakhira Mahato, inspected the no-man's-land area in Matihani, Mahottari, on Monday.

During the visit, Minister Mahato assessed the security situation at the border and reviewed the progress of development projects.

Upon arriving in Matihani on Monday morning, Minister Mahato observed the construction of a drain in the no-man's-land area, which has currently been halted. The High Court in Janakpur had issued an order to stop the work after locals Bajrangi Prasad Sah and Shiva Sah filed a writ petition claiming the drain was being built on their private land.

During the inspection, Minister Mahato stated that development work should not be obstructed and urged both parties to resolve the issue through discussion. He directed the concerned authorities to verify the land records and initiate necessary steps to ensure no harm is caused to any party.

Minister Mahato also visited the famous Laxmi Narayan Math in Matihani. He was welcomed by Matihani Municipality Mayor Hari Prasad Mandal and the Math's successor, Mahant Dr. Rabindra Das Vaishnav.

Provincial Assembly member Sunita Kumari Sah, Mahottari Chief District Officer Indradev Yadav, and heads of security agencies also participated in the inspection.
