CPN-UML MP Ain Bahadur Mahar Demands Unconditional Release of Former PMs

Kathmandu. CPN-UML MP Ain Bahadur Mahar has demanded the immediate and unconditional release of former Prime Minister KP Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.

Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, MP Mahar demanded their release while calling for an end to the politics of vengeance and prejudice.

He stated that the government had arrested the former Prime Minister and former Home Minister in an illegal and extrajudicial manner. Asserting that there is no place for prejudice and vengeance in a democracy, MP Mahar emphasized that everyone should be treated equally to establish the rule of law.

Furthermore, he demanded that the government immediately withdraw its decision to ban or abolish student organizations and trade unions as part of its announced governance reform agenda.

He noted that the student movement is the core essence of Nepal's democratic movement and system.
