Heavy Rainfall Submerges Jaleshwor Municipality

MOHATTARI. Jaleshwor, the district headquarters of Mahottari district, has been submerged today after heavy rainfall following a long time.

The district headquarters Jaleshwor and its surrounding areas have been submerged due to the torrential rain that continued for about an hour and a half. Due to the rain, traffic on the roads has also been affected as one to three feet of water has accumulated on the roads in Jaleshwor.

Due to the lack of proper drainage system in the urban areas of Jaleshwor, the rainwater has not been able to drain, and along with the water, garbage has also been scattered all over the road. Meanwhile, due to the rain, the Hanuman temple located at Mahendra Chowk, considered the heart of Jaleshwor, has been submerged.

The Rajdevi temple located in Jaleshwor Municipality-2 has been affected by the submersion. Water is on the verge of entering the sanctum sanctorum of that temple.
