Arjun Dhakal Elected Unopposed as President of Gorkha Samaj Japan

Tokyo. Arjun Dhakal has been elected unopposed as the president of Gorkha Samaj Japan. The society's third convention, held at Musashino Palace in Tokyo, selected the new executive committee under Dhakal's leadership.

Som Bahadur Dhakal Chhetri, Ramesh Giri, Khem Gurung, and Rishiram Dhakal have been selected as vice-presidents, while Sunil Devkota has been elected as general secretary, Sujan Panta and Soman Gurung as secretaries, Sima Gurung as treasurer, and Puja Gurung as assistant treasurer.

Similarly, Krishna Prasad Pokharel, Pawan Panta, Sabin Marahatta, Regina Gurung, Binod Sapkota, and Yogesh Gayak have been selected as members.

Speaking as the chief guest, Subash Lamichhane, president of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Japan, noted that Gorkha Samaj has always worked in collaboration with NRNA Japan and pledged to continue coordinating with the new executive committee.

The event was attended by special guests including Rabindra Shrestha 'Gorkhali', president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Japan Chapter; Muktiram Khanal, vice-president of NRNA Japan; Mohan Paudel, president of Janapragatisheel Manch Japan; Bimal Shrestha, president of Dhading Samaj Japan; Bhupalman Shrestha, coordinator of the election committee; and Yubraj Gurung, president of Gurung Samaj Japan.

The program also saw significant participation from representatives of various organizations and members of the Nepali community, including Japanese citizen Haruhito Nozu.
