Minister Sobita Gautam Pledges to Expedite Legislative Process

Kathmandu. Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam has expressed her commitment to accelerating the law-making process. Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, she stated that the Parliament must no longer delay in addressing existing legal gaps and making the governance system effective.

Participating in the Speaker election process, Minister Gautam clarified that she would provide full support to establish the Federal Parliament as a place for real work rather than just a forum for talk. Emphasizing that the role of Parliament is crucial in addressing public needs and holding the government accountable, she noted that the time has come to show the courage to make decisions.

Minister Gautam stressed the need to break away from the old culture of procrastination, stating that there is no room for excuses during the law-making process. She claimed that she is determined to ensure the Ministry of Law facilitates effective coordination between the government and Parliament to advance bills swiftly.

Asserting that Parliament must define itself as an institution of action, Minister Gautam urged all lawmakers and political parties to join the grand campaign of law-making.
