PM commits to passing constitution amendment bill

Janakpurdham - Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed the commitment that he would take initiative to pass the constitution amendment bill, as it was tabled in the parliament in line with the aspiration of the Madhesi people.

Addressing a cadres meeting of Province No 2 organized by NC central committee Dhanusha district committee in course of the preparation of the local level elections today, NC President Deuba reminded that it was the Madhes that protected and made the NC victorious. So, the NC needs to take a lead again, he urged the cadres.

"In my upcoming visit to India, I'll urge the Indian government to continue assistance to accomplish the postal highway," he said, adding the issues as of citizenships, East-West railway, fast track and construction of Nijgadh airport would be dealt separately.

Moreover, the NC President said efforts were underway to withdraw the cases of those who were falsely implicated and imprisoned in connection with Madhes agitation.

He accused the CPN-UML of trying to disrupt the communal cohesion by forwarding the slogan of nationalism. He urged all not to be swayed by it.
