Delhi Capitals Secure Second Consecutive IPL Victory Against Mumbai Indians

New Delhi. In the eighth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Delhi Capitals defeated five-time champions Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets to register their second consecutive win. 

In the match held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday, Delhi chose to bowl first after winning the toss and restricted Mumbai to 162 runs. Delhi comfortably chased down the target of 163 runs in 18.1 overs, losing only 4 wickets.

Impact player Sameer Rizvi emerged as the hero in Delhi's victory. He scored an explosive 90 runs off 51 balls, completing his second consecutive half-century of the season. Apart from Rizvi, Pathum Nissanka contributed 44 runs and David Miller remained unbeaten on 21. For Mumbai, Deepak Chahar, Corbin Bosch, and Mitchell Santner took 1 wicket each, while Nitish Rana was run out by Jasprit Bumrah.

Earlier, batting first for Mumbai, acting captain Suryakumar Yadav played a half-century innings of 51 runs. Although Rohit Sharma scored 35, Naman Dhir 28, and Mitchell Santner remained unbeaten on 18, the team could not set a large total. For Delhi, Mukesh Kumar took 2 wickets, while Axar Patel, Lungi Ngidi, Vipraj Nigam, and T. Natarajan took 1 wicket each.

Mumbai's regular captain Hardik Pandya did not participate in today's match due to injury. During the toss, Suryakumar Yadav informed that he was leading the team as Hardik was not fully fit.
