Actress Priyanka Karki Speaks Out in Support of Rape Allegation Victim Against Sagar Lamsal

Kathmandu. As the Nepali entertainment industry remains stirred by the serious rape allegations against comedian Sagar Lamsal (Bale), popular actress Priyanka Karki has publicly voiced her support for the victim. Through her official Facebook page, she strongly criticized the societal tendency to question the victim instead of empathizing with her suffering.

Priyanka expressed deep concern over the ongoing trend of blaming and demoralizing the victim rather than ensuring justice. Addressing the social media discourse where people are questioning, 'Why did it take so long?' or 'Why stay silent for a year?', Priyanka noted that many fail to understand the immense courage, strength, and struggle required to bring such a sensitive matter to light. 

She argued that it is shameful to blame a woman who has overcome a mountain of fear, pain, and mental struggle to seek justice. She emphasized that since the victim has raised her voice, the path forward must lead to justice.

Priyanka has demanded that the state and relevant authorities conduct an impartial and thorough investigation without succumbing to any influence. She maintains that the truth must emerge and that whoever is guilty should face the strictest legal action. 

Stating that there should be no attempts to suppress the victim's voice and that the environment must ensure the perpetrator cannot escape under any pretext, she has called on everyone to stand on the side of justice.
