Morang Police Arrest Man for Forging Government Seals and Signatures

Biratnagar. Morang police have arrested one individual on charges of fraud involving the forgery of government seals and the signatures of government employees.

The arrested individual is 37-year-old Kamal Kumar Swarnakar, a resident of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-6. According to the District Police Office, Morang, Swarnakar, who worked as a scribe within the Transport Office premises, was found to have forged government seals and signatures while promising to renew the bill book for a motorcycle with registration number Ko 31 Pa 5579.

Police received information that he had been collecting vehicle registration books (bill books) from various individuals who had entrusted him with paying their taxes, and subsequently forging government seals and the signatures of sixth-level officers.

Acting on this information, a police team apprehended him from the Transport Office premises. During a search of Swarnakar's residence, police recovered 11 vehicle registration books.

District Police Office, Morang Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Lilaraj Lamichhane stated that the suspect has been remanded by the Morang District Court, and further investigation is underway. 

Meanwhile, the police have requested anyone who may have given their vehicle registration books to Swarnakar for renewal to contact the Crime Investigation Branch of the District Police Office, Morang, within 5 days.
