Nepal Police CIB Denies Reports of Fake Rescue Operations in Everest Region

Kathmandu. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has expressed serious concern over reports alleging that toxic substances were added to tourist food in the Everest region to facilitate 'fake rescues'. In a press release issued on Friday, the bureau clarified that there is no truth to such claims appearing in national and international media.

The statement reads, 'Investigations conducted so far have not revealed any evidence of food poisoning, and the bureau is deeply concerned by the publication of misleading and baseless news in national and international media outlets and Facebook pages citing these unverified claims.'

The bureau has been investigating 'fake rescue' cases that occurred in the past.
