Nati Kaji Memorial Society Announces 2081 National Music Awards

Kathmandu. The Nati Kaji Memorial Society has announced the 'Nati Kaji National Music Honors and Awards' for the year 2081. The society released a statement revealing the names of the recipients. According to a statement issued by Secretary Bishwas Ghimire, the decision to honor and award artists across various categories was made during the executive committee meeting held on Chaitra 16.

The statement also mentioned that the award ceremony, which was previously postponed due to the country's political situation, general elections, and periods of mourning, will be held grandly this time.

Established in memory of the legendary Nepali music icon, Sangeet Maharshi Nati Kaji Shrestha, the society has been presenting these awards annually to recognize and encourage artists.

Who are the recipients of the honors and awards?

Nati Kaji National Distinguished Music Honor: This will be awarded to 9 individuals, including lyricist Narayan Kumar Acharya, singer Juju Kani Ranjit, lyricist Birendra Pathak, singer Shashi Gurung, singer Ganesh Parajuli, lyricist/singer/composer Dr. Bhimarjun Acharya, composer Nirwan Si Gurung, lyricist Sabu Gadal, and lyricist/composer Ashta Lama.

Nati Kaji National Music Award: Recipients in this category include lyricist Manoj Khadka, singer Roshan Gurung, composer Tara Prakash Limbu, singer Sarita Shahi, arranger Chand Singh, and recordist Maheshwor Rajbhandari.

Nati Kaji National Talent Award: This award will be presented to singer Sahima Shrestha, singer Suresh Lama, and singer Bipana Tamang.

Nati Kaji National Classical Music Award: Pramod Upadhyaya will be the sole recipient in the classical music category.

Nati Kaji National Art Journalism Award: Journalists Ananta Wagle and Gita Adhikari will be honored for their contributions to the field of journalism.
