Surkhet Police Arrest 16 Middlemen Operating at Government Offices

Surkhet. Surkhet police have arrested 16 middlemen from the Transport Management Office and the Land Revenue Office in Surkhet.

The arrests were made on Thursday at 11:30 AM, with 10 individuals apprehended at the Transport Management Office in Birendranagar and 6 at the Land Revenue Office in Surkhet.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Jung Budhthapa of the District Police Office, Surkhet, the suspects were charging service seekers fees under the guise of facilitating vehicle registration book (billbook) renewals, land transfers, and other land-related services.

'We received reports of obstruction in public service delivery,' he stated. 'Based on that information, a police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Kishore Khatri from the District Police Office, Surkhet, took them into custody.' He added that they have been brought to the District Police Office for further investigation.

1. Deepak Bahadur BK, 36, resident of Birendranagar Municipality-1, Surkhet.

2. Indra Bahadur Shahi, 62, resident of the same ward.

3. Pradeep Khadka, 33, resident of the same ward.

4. Ramesh Damai, 37, resident of Lekbeshi Municipality-3.

5. Hari Prasad Devkota, 28, resident of Birendranagar Municipality-5.

6. Prabhakar Sharma Gautam, 32, resident of Birendranagar Municipality-10.

Individuals arrested from the Land Revenue Office, Surkhet

7. Roshmi Tiwari, 32, resident of Birendranagar Municipality-11.

8. Laxmi Shahi, 25, resident of the same ward.

9. Kusum Budha Chhetri, 38, resident of the same ward.

10. Parbati Yogi, 34, resident of the same ward.

11. Pabitara Neupane, 35, resident of the same ward.

12. Durga Shahi, 31, resident of the same ward.

13. Samjhana Yogi, 23, resident of the same ward.

14. Roshni Shahi, 18, resident of the same ward.
