Delhi Capitals secure first win of IPL 2026 season

Kathmandu. Delhi Capitals have registered their first win of the season in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the match held on Wednesday, Delhi defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 6 wickets to open their account.

Delhi chased down the modest target of 142 runs set by Lucknow in 17.1 overs, losing 4 wickets with 17 balls to spare. Sameer Rizvi played an outstanding unbeaten innings of 70 runs off 47 balls to lead Delhi to victory. He was supported by Tristan Stubbs, who remained unbeaten on 39 off 32 balls.

Earlier, batting first, Lucknow was bundled out for 141 runs in 18.4 overs. For Lucknow, Abdul Samad scored 36 and Mitchell Marsh scored 35, but other batsmen failed to contribute significantly.

In bowling, Lungi Ngidi and T. Natarajan took 3 wickets each for Delhi, while Kuldeep Yadav claimed 2 wickets. Prince Yadav took 2 wickets for Lucknow.
