Chief of Army Staff Sigdel Emphasizes Redefining National Security in Changing Global Context

Kathmandu. Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel has emphasized the need to redefine national security in the changing global environment, noting that Nepal's geopolitics presents both opportunities and challenges for the nation. 

Chief of Army Staff Sigdel expressed this view during the closing ceremony of the 11th High-Level National Security Training, conducted at the Army Command and Staff College in Shivapuri under the coordination of the Ministry of Defence and the management of the Nepali Army. 

Stating that national security is not the responsibility of a single agency but a matter of shared concern for all, he pointed out the necessity of viewing geopolitics in conjunction with technology. On the occasion, Chief of Army Staff Sigdel distributed certificates to the participants of the two-week training, while Defence Secretary Kedarnath Sharma presented tokens of appreciation. 

Acting Commandant of the College, Brigadier General Dil Bikram Subba, highlighted the importance and utility of the training. The training saw the participation of 30 individuals, including first and second-class officers of the Government of Nepal, high-ranking officers from the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police, as well as media personnel. During the training, a one-day seminar on 'Modern State Governance and Originality' was organized, and participants were taken on an observation visit to the Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre in Panchkhal.
