Lawmakers to report constituency issues directly to PM's office via WhatsApp

Kathmandu. A new system is being implemented that will allow members of the House of Representatives to immediately report issues within their constituencies to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

During a discussion with lawmakers representing Madhesh Province at Singha Durbar on Wednesday, Prime Minister Balendra Shah announced that a WhatsApp group for each province is being established to facilitate direct communication between lawmakers and the Prime Minister's office regarding local issues.

RSP lawmaker Manish Jha stated after the meeting that this arrangement is intended to make it easier for lawmakers to inform the government about problems observed in their constituencies.

During the discussion, lawmakers elected from Madhesh Province briefed the Prime Minister on both immediate and long-term issues facing their regions.

Lawmaker Jha mentioned that he urged the government to dissolve all Red Cross committees, alleging they have become hubs for corruption, and to bring them under investigation.

Additionally, the lawmakers requested that public service delivery in Madhesh Province be made more citizen-friendly. Prime Minister Shah has been conducting discussions with lawmakers by forming province-wise groups to address constituency-specific concerns.
