Lahore Qalandars Fines Captain Shaheen Afridi Over Security Breach at Hotel

Lahore. Lahore Qalandars has fined its captain, Shaheen Shah Afridi, 1 million Pakistani Rupees. The Punjab Police had questioned him on allegations of violating security protocols at the team's hotel.

Lahore Qalandars stated that Afridi was fined to maintain discipline and accountability within the team. However, no action was taken against another player involved in the same incident, Sikandar Raza.

Raza had attempted to absolve Afridi of blame by taking responsibility during a press conference held yesterday. The incident came to light after a letter written by the Punjab Police to PSL CEO Salman Naser went viral on social media.

The letter alleged that Afridi and Raza had brought guests into their rooms without the permission of security officials and kept them there for about three hours. While Lahore Qalandars admitted to some details of the incident, the team claimed it was publicly exaggerated.

The club clarified that the incident was not intentional but occurred due to a misunderstanding, emphasizing its full respect for security protocols. The club also committed to bringing further clarity to security standards and communication systems to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
