Fugitive Accused in Cooperative Fraud Case Arrested in Lalitpur

Kathmandu. The District Police Range, Lalitpur, has arrested fugitive accused Purushottam Pahadi in a cooperative fraud case. Acting on a special tip-off, the police took him into custody from Patandhoka, Ward No. 3 of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, on Chaitra 15.

A case was registered against him for fraud based on a letter from the Ministry of Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Hetauda, and a complaint filed by Sunita Kumari Shrestha and others. So far, 20 individuals have filed explicit complaints against Pahadi.

According to the police, he is found to have defrauded an amount totaling NPR 16,265,920. The arrested Pahadi has been remanded in custody by the Lalitpur District Court for a further five days.

The police have further advanced the investigation into the fraud case against him.
