Economic Census to Commence in Chitwan from Baisakh 2

Chitwan. The economic census is set to begin here from Baisakh 2. At a press conference organized here today by the District Economic Census Office, it was informed that 117 enumerators will work for the census.

The Chief of the Office, Renukumari Ghimire, informed that 117 enumerators, along with 17 supervisors, will be deployed in the district. She stated that local enumerators will be appointed in all seven municipalities by Asar 7, and urged the deployed enumerators to provide accurate information.

Ghimire informed that questionnaires have been prepared in 13 sections covering the economic units of eighteen industrial groups.

According to the Economic Census, 2075, Chitwan has 29,237 industries, of which 17,045 were found to be registered and 12,184 were found to be unregistered. The Chief of the Office, Ghimire, informed that 62.62 percent of the industries in the district are owned by men, and 37.38 percent of the industries are managed by women.

During the census, calculations will be made for all sectors except some areas within the agriculture sector. The economic census is expected to facilitate the management of the economy.
