Home Minister Directs Authorities to Expedite Disaster Preparedness Ahead of Monsoon

Kathmandu. Home Minister Sudhan Gurung held discussions with Dinesh Bhatta, CEO of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), on Sunday.

During the meeting held at the Authority's office, Home Minister Sudhan Gurung directed that preparations for disaster management must commence before the monsoon sets in. Home Minister Gurung stated that he has worked with the Authority for 10 years and now, having become the Home Minister himself, he is focused on minimizing disasters before they occur.

Executive Chief Dinesh Bhatta commented, 'This is a regular process. Previous Home Ministers used to arrive later, but the current Home Minister has arrived early. He has asked us to remain comfortable for disaster management.'
