CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet Praises Rastriya Swatantra Party President Ravi Lamichhane's Initiative for All-Party Meeting

Kathmandu. CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet has stated that the all-party meeting called by Rastriya Swatantra Party President Ravi Lamichhane to discuss contemporary political issues is a positive initiative. 

"At a time when the government is moving ahead contrary to public expectations and in an anti-people manner, questions are continuously being raised about the Prime Minister's statements and behavior, and a style reflecting immaturity rather than mature leadership is being seen, dialogue, cooperation, and consensus among political parties have become even more necessary," Secretary Basnet wrote on social media Facebook on Monday.

Basnet stated that the effort to bring the major political forces to a common platform for dialogue should be viewed positively, at a time when the Speaker appears busy with unnecessary fanfare in various programs and travels, instead of playing an active role in ending the parliamentary deadlock. The all-party meeting called by President Lamichhane at Singha Durbar to discuss issues including opening the parliamentary obstruction has just begun a short while ago.
