Congress Leaders Consult Following Arrest of Former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak

Kathmandu. Congress leaders have convened for consultations following the arrest of party leader and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak. Spokesperson Devraj Chalise informed that leaders are currently consulting on the way forward after Lekhak's apprehension.

He informed Ratopati that an orientation program for members elected to the House of Representatives on behalf of the party is scheduled for 11 AM, and the party's stance regarding Lekhak's arrest will be made public before that.

He stated, 'We are currently in consultation. A consultation for the parliamentarians is scheduled at the party's central office at 11 AM; we will release the party's view before that.'

Lekhak, who was the Home Minister during the 'Jangi Andolan' (Protest Movement) held on Bhadra 23 and 24, was arrested by the police early in the morning from his residence in Katunje.
