Western Low-Pressure System and Local Winds Affecting Nepal's Weather Forecast

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that Nepal is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system along with local winds. Due to this influence, most parts of the country are experiencing cloudy conditions. 

This afternoon, Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces will generally experience cloud cover. There is a possibility of moderate rain with thunderstorms in some places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and light rain and snowfall in a few places in the remaining mountainous and hilly regions. 

Tonight, Koshi, the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, along with the mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, will generally be cloudy. The Department has indicated a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, and the mountainous region of Bagmati province.
