Husband and Brother-in-Law Arrested in Sensational Murder Case of Woman in Biratnagar

A sensational mystery surrounding a heinous murder that occurred a week ago in Biratnagar has been uncovered. Morang Police have arrested a man who allegedly murdered his own wife, wrapped her body in a sheet, dumped it in a garbage pile, and then tried to conceal the crime by filing a missing person report for his wife with the police.

At a press conference on Wednesday, the District Police Office, Morang, claimed to have confirmed the involvement of the victim's husband and brother-in-law in the murder of 32-year-old Komal Kumari Sah, a resident of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-15, Harthali Hat.

According to the police, the main planner of this murder is the deceased's husband, 32-year-old Roshan Sah, while the accomplice who helped dispose of the body is the victim's brother-in-law, 46-year-old Dipendra Sah, who is Roshan's elder brother. Police have taken both into custody. Komal was murdered in the middle of the night on Chaitra 6.

Initial investigation revealed that Roshan strangled his wife to death inside the house using a sari and a scarf. After the murder, he conspired with his elder brother, Dipendra, to dispose of the body. They allegedly tied Komal's hands and feet with a rope, wrapped her in a sheet, placed her in a City Safari vehicle with registration number Pr. 1-02-003 Ha 5707, and threw her into a drain filled with water under a culvert about 4 kilometers from the house, near the leather factory in Biratnagar-17.

Two days after dumping the body, on Chaitra 8, Roshan himself went to the Rani Area Police Station and attempted to mislead the police by filing a report with a description, stating his wife had been missing since Chaitra 6. To avoid suspicion, he continuously contacted the victim's maternal family and pretended to be worried about the search for his wife.

However, on the evening of Chaitra 10, locals spotted a suspicious bundle under the culvert and informed the police. The police team that reached the scene opened the sheet and found a decomposed female body.

At the press conference, Morang Police Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Lilraj Lamichhane stated that although the investigation was complex, they achieved success.

The identity of the deceased Komal Kumari Sah was confirmed by her maternal family based on the bangles, rings, and the green sari she was wearing. According to the police, the main motive for the murder appears to be mistrust arising from marital relations and family suspicion.

Lamichhane further stated, 'Through meticulous analysis of the body's condition found at the scene, the victim's clothing, and the missing person report filed a few days prior, suspicion immediately pointed towards the victim's husband. Eventually, during intensive interrogation, Roshan Sah confessed to murdering his wife in his own house and making a planned attempt to hide the body.'

Lamichhane added that his elder brother also assisted in this act. According to him, Roshan's choice of a route without CCTV cameras and selecting a garbage disposal site that is frequently foul-smelling confirms that this murder was premeditated.

The identity of the deceased Komal Kumari Sah was confirmed by her maternal family based on the bangles, rings, and the green sari she was wearing. According to the police, the main motive for the murder appears to be mistrust arising from marital relations and family suspicion.

Currently, both accused have been remanded for 5 days by the Morang District Court, and detailed investigation is underway under the 'Homicide' case, the police informed. The police have also collected the City Safari vehicle used in the incident and other evidence.
