Lumbini Province Dominates Koshi Province by 148 Runs in Prime Minister's Cup Cricket Tournament

Kathmandu. Lumbini Province defeated Koshi Province by a massive margin of 148 runs in the fifth match of the Prime Minister's Cup Cricket Tournament. Chasing the target of 250 runs set by Lumbini at the Ramjanki ground in Janakpur on Monday, Koshi was restricted to 101 runs in 31.4 overs.

Ankit Subedi contributed the highest 30 runs for Koshi. Dipesh Kandel made 15 runs, and captain Sujan Thapaliya scored 11 runs. Other batters could not make a significant contribution.

Santosh Yadav delivered an excellent bowling spell to dismiss Koshi cheaply, conceding only 11 runs for 4 wickets in 7 overs. He was well supported by Rajendra Bam, who took 3 wickets. Nirmal Gurung took 2 wickets, and Sandesh Thapa took 1 wicket.

Earlier, having lost the toss and opting to bat first, Lumbini scored 249 runs for the loss of all wickets in 49.3 overs, aided by a half-century innings from captain Dev Khanal. Khanal scored 92 runs off 100 balls, including 8 fours and 1 six.

Similarly, Santosh Yadav contributed 48 runs off 62 balls. Opener Ranjit Khadka added 35 runs off 36 balls.

For Koshi Province, captain Sujan Thapaliya conceded 35 runs for 4 wickets in 10 overs. Dipesh Kandel took 2 wickets, while Bipin Mahato and Prem Kamat took 1 wicket each.

After the victory, Lumbini reached 3 points from 2 matches. Koshi, however, has only 1 point from 2 matches.
