Man Allegedly Murdered in Nepal; Death Initially Ruled Accidental Fall

Myagdi. It has been revealed that a young man, who was reported to have died a month ago after falling from a tree in Dana of Annapurna Rural Municipality-3 here, was actually murdered.

On Falgun 7, 24-year-old Saurav, also known as Sukuman BK of Dana, was about to be cremated after it was reported that he died after falling from a tree while cutting grass in the Gaiyabhat jungle. Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team reached the deceased's home and brought the body to Beni Hospital for post-mortem examination.

District Police Office Inspector Sagar Timilsina informed that following the post-mortem report and a detailed investigation into the incident, it was discovered that 22-year-old Prakash BK of Dana had murdered Saurav a month later.

“Prakash, who was arrested on Saturday, has admitted to murdering Saurav in his initial statement,” he said, “Prakash admitted that an argument following alcohol consumption escalated into murder. It is understood that an attempt was made to conceal the murder due to family relations.”

Police Inspector Timilsina stated that Prakash has been kept in custody for investigation, with a seven-day remand extended by the District Court in a case related to homicide (manslaughter).
