Iran Retaliates with Missiles and Drones Against Israel and Gulf Neighbors After Security Officials' Killing

Tehran. Iran has responded with missile and drone strikes against neighboring Gulf countries and Israel after Israel assassinated two senior Iranian security officials.

Iran confirmed launching multi-warhead missiles into Israel's central region following the deaths of senior Iranian officials Ali Larijani and General Gholam Reza Soleimani. Two people were killed in Ramat Gan in this attack, and other damage was reported.

Iranian missile and drone attacks also occurred in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and other Arab countries, which were successfully intercepted by air defense systems.

Following the Iranian missile strikes, Israel conducted airstrikes on Basij posts surrounding Tehran. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the incident as an 'attempt to weaken the Iranian regime.'

Iran has maintained control over the Strait of Hormuz, through which about a fifth of the world's oil is transported. The United States has also continued its attacks and threats in the region.

Israel continues its airstrikes against Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon. At least six people were killed and 24 injured in an attack in central Beirut.

The conflict signals a deepening humanitarian, economic, and security crisis in the Middle East.
