Israeli Forces Claim Killing of Senior Hamas Naval Commander in Gaza Strike

Gaza. The Israeli military claimed that a senior Hamas naval commander was killed in a targeted strike in Gaza. According to a joint statement issued by the Israel Defense Forces and internal security agencies, Yunus Mohammed Hussein Alian, the commander of Hamas's naval unit operating in the northern Gaza Strip, was killed in an attack carried out on Monday.

He was reportedly responsible for the operation, training, and weapons readiness of the naval force. The statement alleged that in recent weeks, he had been rebuilding the capabilities of his unit and planning potential attacks. It was also stated that precautions were taken to avoid civilian casualties during the strike.

Meanwhile, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent and local health sources, 3 Palestinians were killed and 14 injured in an airstrike in the Al-Mawasi area of southern Gaza on Tuesday.

According to Gaza's health authority, the death toll in the region since October 7, 2023, has reached 72,249, with 171,898 injured.

The regional conflict appears to be escalating further.
